“Harborfest is such a great event celebrating our harbor,” said Mayor David Martin. “I can’t think of a better way to end this fun event than with fireworks over the harbor. After spending the day down by the water, I hope families will stay in the area to enjoy the show.”
Stamford Partnership Executive Director Jackie Lightfield added, “The Stamford Partnership is happy to support the work of Soundwaters and the city of Stamford in promoting the public recreational enjoyment of the Stamford harbor with this year's Harborfest.”
Harborfest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Harbor Point Waterfront, 2200 Atlantic St. The fireworks show will begin just after 8 p.m., once it is fully dark. The fireworks will be viewable from the Harbor Point Waterfront, and also from the western part of the harbor at Boccuzzi Park or along the new boardwalk.
Martin will present “Cardboard Cup” awards to the winners of the Mayor’s Cardboard Cup earlier in the day, with the youth awards ceremony at noon and adult awards ceremony at 4 p.m. in the boardwalk area of the Harbor Point Waterfront.
